Global Luke-Warming

"You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the earth." - Psalm 104:30 (NKJV)

So You Say You Want to Save the Planet?

With all the talk on Global Warming, people are increasingly “going green” Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle has become the lifestyle it was created to be. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle is a good practice to keep. But if you really want to do something good for the earth I suggest a the use of Repent, Receive, Revive…

Repent – and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. And ye shall…

Receive – the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts2:38)

Revive – It is the active Spirit of God who renews the earth (Psalm 104:30) It is the active Spirit of God that causes every living thing to grow and thrive (Isaiah 44:3-4) It was by the active Spirit of God that the earth was formed. (Genesis 1:2)

But as the People of God become lukewarm, complacent, apathetic, and quench the Spirit of God, we also quench the operation of the gifts of Spirit. Global Luke-Warming is a far more dangerous concept than Global Warming.

"Quench not the Spirit." 1 Thessalonians 5:19

Jesus makes it clear in Revelation 3:15-16, if a person is lukewarm (straddling between the will of God and the pull of the world,) He will spew them out of His mouth. That is to say that a lukewarm individual is undesirable even detestable to the Lord.

The Lord wants us to be as a fire burning for Him, filled with a passion, fervid in prayer, filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit, and fluent in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit.

As we allow worldly influences, personal perception, and public opinion to dampen who we are in Christ, we are effectively quenching the Spirit. And with a lukewarm passion, we become idle in our prayer lives and the gifts of the Spirit fall out of operation.

Do not neglect the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit. Allow the Holy Ghost to move in your life, to Renew, Replenish, Revive the world around you.
